The University of San Diego (USD) TRIO Upward Bound (UB) program provides college entrance preparation, academic support, and professional development opportunities. Established in 1999, UB offers free services to eligible students designed to support their preparation for college entrance.

About Us
USD TRIO Upward Bound is one of more than 900 Upward Bound programs nationwide dedicated to helping eligible high school students persist in and graduate from higher education. Our program supports students in building the skills, confidence, and preparation needed to succeed in college and beyond.
Rooted in the Linda Vista community, USD TRIO Upward Bound works with Kearny High students and partners with local organizations to best support student needs. Participants receive academic and professional support through access to USD staff, resources, and services. Students also have a unique opportunity to enroll in select USD undergraduate courses while still in high school and connect with USD undergraduates for tutoring and mentoring.
Our six-week summer program takes place on USD’s campus and offers an immersive college experience. Students live in residence halls, dine in the Student Life Pavilion, take college-prep courses taught by experienced UB instructors, and participate in engaging educational and travel opportunities.
With a caring and knowledgeable team of educators, USD TRIO Upward Bound is excited to welcome motivated students who are curious about college.
